Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

     The text within the manuscript should be edited for proper use of the English language (UK) with clear, concise sentences.

  • The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

    All text should be single-spaced, left-justified in 11 point Times New Roman type.


    Manuscripts must be formatted on A4 paper, 11 point Times New Roman font type, single or 1.15 spaced, justified,  double column and not more than  6 pages with 1” margin on all sides


    Authors’ information should be placed at the top of the first page followed by the abstract (no more than 250 words) and 3-5 keywords.

  • The list of authors cannot be changed once in review. In other words, only authors whose names appear in the original manuscript under review will be considered for publication after acceptance. NO NEW AUTHORS CAN BE ADDED after review
  • Authors should suggest the details (full name, affiliation, email address and possibly phone number) of at least 3 possible reviewers for their manuscript to assist in recruitment of reviewers.
  • A processing fee of N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) Only is required before the manuscript can be processed further for review. This is NON-REFUNDABLE irrespective of the decision taken after review of the manuscript. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO FOREIGN AUTHORS OUTSIDE NIGERIA
  • The maximum length of manuscripts should not exceed 6pages double column or 10pages single column on A4 paper. You will be required to pay extra for each page after the allowable 6pages double column apart from the N20,000 pagination fees; if your manuscript is accepted. However, this policy of additional fees is limited to a maximum of 10pages double column

Author Guidelines

GUIDE FOR AUTHORS

AUTHORSHIP
The listing of authors should only include those who have made an intellectual contribution to the manuscript, who will publicly take responsibility for the data and conclusions and who have approved the final version. Every listed author must have made significant contribution to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project should be acknowledged.

TYPESETTING

  • The final manuscript, references, and author’s biography must be submitted electronically in MS Word after acceptance.
  • Should manuscript make heavy use of equations, symbols, coding, etc., we kindly request that you also submit the PDFs in addition to the MS Word file.
  • The text within the manuscript should be edited for proper use of the English language (UK) with clear, concise sentences.
  • Please proofread the copy for typographical, grammar and spelling errors
  • All text should be single -spaced, left-justified in 11 point Times New Roman type.
  • Manuscripts must be formatted on A4 paper, 11 point Times New Roman font type, single or 1.15 spaced, justified,  double column and not more than  6 pages with 1” margin on all sides
  • Authors’ information should be placed at the top of the first page followed by the abstract (no more than 250 words) and 3-5 keywords.
  • Each author’s information should include full first name followed by last name and detailed affiliation.
  • The corresponding author must be indicated  as a footnote on the first page
  • A reasonable structure should be adopted with well defined sectional headings such as Introduction, Related work Research Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement and References.
  • Please put all primary section titles in UPPER CASE letters preceded by a point number and the next subheading in both Upper and Lower Case letters with appropriate section numbers.  Please ensure that any subheadings under the second subheading are easily identifiable.
  • Block paragraphing should be used where each paragraph is justified uniformly across all sections.
  • Tables and Figures should be well labeled with appropriate numbering and titles at top and bottom of table and figure respectively. Use “Table” in front of Table numbers and “Fig.” in front of figure numbers
  • Equations should be well numbered and formatted as well.
  • All images must be properly embedded within the manuscript; authors should ensure that images have high-resolution (600 dpi or more) for quality printing on paper.
  • Make sure complete editing of each manuscript is conducted to ensure proper use of English language, grammatical structure, spelling and punctuation. Attention to these details will contribute to clear, concise communication of your ideas.

REFERENCING STYLE

  • References must be fully documented and organized strictly in the APA (American Psychological Association) IV style; this is similar to the Harvard style of referencing.
  • References should relate only to material cited within the manuscript and be listed in alphabetical order at the end of each manuscript.
  • The reference should be typed single-spaced and arranged alphabetically by the first author’s surname.
  • Citation should use (Surnames, year); references with 3 authors or less must be cited with all authors' surnames. References with more than 3 authors should be cited as (First Author's Surname et al, year)

MANUSCRIPT CHARGES

Nigerian Authors are required to pay N5,000 (Five Thousand naira only) as review processing fee while those whose manuscript is accepted for publication will be required to pay an additional publication charge of N20,000 (twenty thousand naira only) before publication. International authors  are NOT required to pay the Review fee but will pay a publication charge of $100 (one hundred US dollars) before an accepted paper is published. Significant discount  can be given to International authors from lower middle and low income countries (as classified by World Bank), based after an email request.

COPYRIGHT

Copyright is owned by authors after manuscript is accepted but published under the creative commons license CC-BY-NC. This journal allows for self-archiving by authors on their personal websites or other academic forum such as Researchgate, Google Scholar etc. In cases where pagination obligation cannot be met, publication of accepted articles can ONLY be deferred to future volumes/issues. In very extreme circumstances, the determination of the withdrawal of an article remains with the Journal’s Editorial Board.

ETHICAL MATTERS

Authors using experimental animals and human subjects in their investigation must seek approval from the appropriate Ethical Committee in accordance with "Principles of Laboratory Animal Care" (NIH publication no. 85-23, revised 1985) and/or the declaration of Helsinki promulgated in 1964 as amended in 1996. The method section must include a statement to prove that the investigation was approved and that informed consent was obtained. Plagiarism, multiple publications of the same data or research and other unethical conducts will not be tolerated by the journal.

GALLEY PROOFS

 Galley proofs will be sent to the address given for correspondence. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that the galley proofs are returned without delay. The  authors hereby represent and warrant that the paper is original and that they are the authors of the paper, except for material that is clearly identified as to its original source, with permission notices from the copyright owners where required. If in future any violation of any copyright come in notice, then the author will be responsible and not FUOYEJET.
